THE MOST CRUCIAL EUROPEAN ELECTIONS

2014...2 months before the European Election. Extreme Right increases electoral power throughout Europe. Euroscepticism in Britain is bigger than ever. Scotland may become independent. Unofficial referendums or tensions in Catalonia, Flanders, Veneto and Sardinia show support for independence from their parent country. More than ever. Kosovo is recognized as independent. Crimea may be incorporated to Russia. Borders continue to change or are prompt to change. If war do not take place in Ukraine is only because of the power of the lethal weapons or the power of the belligerents. Observing these phenomena, we ask ourselves: where is trust between states and people of the same country? Why an increasing percentage of the European citizens prefers anti-democratic solutions instead of democratic ones? Why europeanisation - though the undeniable benefits that brought and can bring - cannot grab the fruits that the pioneers of late 40s did sow, leading to a real integration? Unfortunately in Europe of today, the economic predominance in the expense of social, created a crisis, smaller or bigger, throughout our continent. More and more citizens see themselves living in austerity or in a worse situation than before (except perhaps in the former communist countries). How sure we are anymore that the calls for democratic values are not only nominally essential, just for creating the proper environment for the exercise of free economic interactions from which only specific "usual suspects" benefit ? It is said that these Elections are crucial for the future of Europe. For us, the supporters of the European idea, we hope to the emergence of a creative Euroscepticism in the EU in favour of Deepening, in which these crucial questions and many other similar will be taken into account, delivering finally positive answers and practical results.
